After completing my Masters degree, I decided to apply for the PhD program at
SFI because I felt that I could learn a lot with the SFI community. The SFI PhD
program offers a great learning environment: it has a strong research network,
excellent research facilities, and proposes plenty of courses in different areas of finance.
The program is very flexible and allows students to enroll in courses offered by the
SFI network and by other institutions. Working with SFI faculty helped me to reinforce
many qualities and skills essential for the independent researcher: research intuition
and creativity, critical thinking, and patience and perseverance. I really enjoyed
collaborating and coauthoring with other PhD students during my research work.
And the SFI program contributed significantly to the expansion of my research
network by inviting researchers from all over the world to give seminars and
by offering us the support and encouragement we needed to present our research
at international conferences. Synonymous with quality education, SFI has played a
crucial role in shaping my career and has equipped me with the knowledge and
skills required to succeed on my chosen academic path.
