Sunny Side Up
The goal of this project is make a design for a car shield window from a polymer
that can reflect and absorb energy from the sun. With the Sunny Side Up sun shield, a
silicone polymer with a reflective coating is used. The silicone polymer is great at
absorbing energy from the sun and is flexible for easy storage. The sun shield is kept
inside a retractable cylinder tube and can be pulled out of the tube with the handle
attached to the silicone polymer. The tube itself installs in between the dash and wind
shield of the car and comes with tabs to place on the car roof and dash. Once put in to
place, the Sunny Side Up sun shield absorbs energy from the sun and reflexes it off from
the car, protecting the inside from getting warm. Another added feature to the Sunny Side
Up sun shield is that one could pull the shield over the car dashboard and use the stored
energy from the sun to cook eggs on the go or even warm up hot liquids in a mug.
