Self-Discovery Proposal
Introduction:
At the high school/college level, students are likely to want to achieve some type of
accomplishment. A common accomplishment among this group of people is passing a class.
Ultimately, the major accomplishment would be obtaining a diploma or degree. The Psychology
of Accomplishment is a topic that would be compelling to high school and college level students
because itll justify and/or answer questions to why accomplishment is so common and
important among this group. Even though the task that is being accomplished may vary from
person to person, the desire to accomplish something remains the same. In the movie and the
book, Into the wild, Chris McCandles expected his greatest adventure to accomplish that he
could live without society and materialistic things. He wanted to prove that all he needed to live
was himself and nature (and all it had to offer).

The Psychology of Accomplishment is a topic that would be compelling to high school
and college level students because itll justify and/or answer questions to why desire of
accomplishment is so common and important among this group.

Rationale
Im among this age group and I would like to know the psychology behind
accomplishment and why its so important.

Genre / Convention
PowerPoint Presentation:
I think high school/college students would prefer a PowerPoint presentation because it is
straight to the point. Ill add different colors and pictures so itll be eye-catching and not boring.
The main point of each slide would be in bold print. Ill also include a title page.
