All employees will have evaluations conducted by the leadership team.

These will include formal and


informal observations. English and Arabic Heads of Faculty will conduct informal\forrmal observations,
provide feedback and model\co-teaching opportunities [where necessary].
23. Homework

Homework plays essential role in enhancing and promoting skills presented in the classroom. Young
learners need opportunities, more time and sometimes one to one attention in order to absorb,
understand and develop introduced skills. Thus, Al Qemma staff are expected to ensure reasonable
and appropriate homework is sent home on a daily basis following below procedures [Days might be
different depending on the class schedule]:
Sunday:

Reading/Writing both Arabic and English [our students are expected to


spend at least 15 minutes a day reading or exposed to reading].

Monday:

Maths [Worksheets/Maths workbooks to be sent home with clear


example on how to approach required tasks].

Tuesday:

Science [Worksheets/Science workbooks to be sent home with


a clear example demonstrating how to approach required tasks].

Wednesday:

Teachers choice [Teachers are to decide what to be sent home on


Wednesday. HoFs input may be required.

Thursday:

Students are to be encouraged to spend some time reading books


of interests.

Sunday-Thursday [Daily Homework]:

Handwriting/process writing to be regularly encouraged and sent home for more


practice [Teachers are expected to have high expectations on their students ability to
perform appointed tasks].

Sight words [context base] both Arabic and English are to be encouraged and sent home
for practice [Sight words are good words for handwriting especially for the younger
grades].

Complete unfinished classwork.

Note: Islamic/Social Studies and activity subjects teachers may send homework any day
during the week according to the need.
