Assessment Policy

[For more information, See ADEC Public School (P-12) September 2015 \ Policy Number 7220:
Policy on Reporting of Student Progress]
Assessment is an important part of the teaching and learning process as it determines whether the
objectives have been mastered, provides information about the students levels of understanding and
guides further instruction. Formative and summative assessment should happen continuously and
feedback to students should be given so that their practice of a skill and its acquisition will be effective
and efficient. Al Qemma School's Assessment Policy is aligned with the ADEC Public Schools (P12) Policy
on Assessment. Therefore, in AlQemma we use different types of assessment (Assessment of Learning
and Assessment for Learning) to measure and track student academic performance as follows:
1. Academic Performance [Continuous Assessment: Assessment for Learning]: Our students (Grade 1-5)
are assessed on subject-specific concepts and skills based on ADEC curriculum, Frameworks and
Standards or Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum.
