Al Qemma reflects a very strong culture in which Islamic values and Arabic traditions are inherent.
Therefore,
AlQemma staff are expected to respect Islamic values and practices as well as other religions in
the school.

All AlQemma staff are expected to comply with all rules and customs deemed by an Islamic
state.

AlQemma staff are expected to respect UAE customs and traditions in classrooms or workplace.

All events and celebrations should consider and respect cultural sensitivity. To ensure that, any
planned event, activity or celebration needs to be referred to the social worker and VPs for
approval [See Extra Curriculum Activities/Special Events Policy below].
Birthday parties, Valentine, Halloween or any special events apart from Islamic/Arab traditions
are not permitted in Al Qemma.
Official events/celebrations are to be determined by ADEC
20. Dress Code

All staff members at Al Qemma are expected to be professionals and dress appropriately.
Modesty is a key factor with respect to professional dress in the UAE.
All females should be mindful of covering their arms, chest and legs while at work.
Clothing should be neat, loose fitting and not transparent.

21. Professional Development Policy

On a weekly basis, AlQemma Staff are required to participate in two professional development
sessions. Professional development sessions are hosted on Sunday and Tuesday from 1:15 p.m. to
2:15 p.m. [Boys section] and from 2:15p.m. to 3:15p.m. [Girls section] unless otherwise noted.
All teachers are required to attend group planning meetings which are held fortnightly on
Tuesdays. Committee and staff meetings will be scheduled on a monthly basis and will also be
