NOTE:
ICAD is to secure the necessary approval on the related design and shop drawing
The method statement will comply the approved design and shop drawings.
Refer to manufacturers data sheet for each product for updated installation
procedures.
All passive work should be done and confirmed against the Predictive Planning
locations, all pulled cabled should be done and tested.
Assure availability of all the tools required to install the equipment such as
screwdrivers, bolts and safety equipment.
Clearance is to be provided by main contractor for each Data Center and based on
main contractor timing plan to start storage installation procedure in regard to
scopes affecting the storage installation. (Such as Data Center fiber cable testing,
power availability, cooling, assurance of devices security, dust-free environment and
service panel opening).
Coordinating with DC facilities to make sure that location of storage system matches
the approved rack layouts and there are no discrepancies.
Perform an on-site survey before and after installing the storage system. Our on-site
team will guarantee the right installation method and location of storage system to
meet the project specifications and requirement.

Procedure
1. Identify the mini-SAS HD to mini-SAS cables shown in following figure. They will
not have cable labels attached.
2. Each SP in the SPE has a SAS I/O module in slot 5. (The 11 slots in each SP
are numbered left to right, from 0 to 10.) DAE 0 should be connected to port 0 in
those modules. These cables must be connected before the system can be
powered up.
3. Connect the cables between port 0, slot 5 of the SPE and the ports marked with
double circles in DAE 0. The release tab is on the left side of the SAS I/O
module. Ensure that each end of these cables clicks into place, indicating that
they are seated properly.

Up
Ensure that all the switches for both the SPE SPS and the DAE 0 SPS are turned OFF:
(locations 1, 2, 3, and 4 in following figure)
Ensure that all cabinet circuit breakers are in the ON position, all necessary PDU switches are
switched on, and power is connected.
The power cables are color-coded. Two colors identify the different zones (PDUs). Black power
cables connect to PDU B, while gray power cables connect to PDU A. As soon as you connect the
power cables, the component starts powering up automatically. This is normal.
Use the gray power cables to connect the PDU A side cables:Refer to following figure
while performing the procedure that follows.
Connect SPE SPS A to power distribution unit (PDU) A. See cable 1.
Connect SPE SP A to SPE SPS A. See cable 2.
Connect SPE SP B to SPE SPS A. See cable 3.
Connect DAE 0 SPS A to PDU A. See cable 4.
Connect LCC A of DAE 0 to DAE 0 SPS A. See cable 5.
Use the black power cables to connect the PDU B side cables:Refer to following figure
while performing the procedure that follows.
Connect SPE SPS B to power distribution unit (PDU) B. See cable 1.
Connect SPE SP A to SPE SPS B. See cable 2.
Connect SPE SP B to SPE SPS B. See cable 3.
Connect DAE 0 SPS B to PDU B. See cable 4.
Connect LCC B of DAE 0 to DAE 0 SPS B. See cable 5.

7.3 Powering Up
Ensure that all power cables are locked in place with the retention bails. Dress the
cables as appropriate.
Turn the SPE SPS and DAE 0 SPS switches ON
Wait 15-20 minutes for the system to power up completely.
