1.0 Executive Summary

1.1 Project Objective
To provide flawless, safe, rigid and tolerant construction so that the end product is as per the
requirements of all kinds clients.I am totally desired to complete the project within the approved
budget and time.It is also my responsible to provide the final product of the design and the house
plan as per expectations of the clients.

1.2 Risk Assessment

Some of the risks will be faced is:
Unstable market conditions
Shortage of materials
Over-costing of the project

1.3 Scope
To identify the requirement of the construction of the building, plan and design the building
elements to be installed in a building with an intent to satisfy the full operation and ease of stay for
the occupants.

2.0 Building Elements

I. Floors
II. Walls
III. Stairs
IV. Ramps
V. Windows
VI. Doors

2.1 Building Characteristics

I. Two (2) levels
II. Size per level=30m x 15m (similar to the size of a basketball court)
III. Bedroom:6
IV. Study room:1

V. Music room:1

2.2 Occupants
-4 healthy and abled adults
-2 children(under 12 years old)
-1 handicapped and wheel chair bound adult

3.0 Walls to be used for the music room

-3.1 Staggered Studs
Staggered studs means that there is one set of studs supporting the inside wall, and a separate set
supporting the outside wall. Thus when the inside wall vibrates, and vibrates its set of studs, the 2nd
set of studs and outside wall are relatively unaffected. This technique was used on all of the new
walls. Thicker than normal fiberglass insulation was woven between the studs. With tradionally
studded walls, both sides of the wall connected to each other via the studs between them. This
connection allows the sound to travel through the wall to the other side. Staggered- stud framing
keeps the two sides of the wall from touching, reducing the sound travel. The base and top plates of
the wall should be of 2-by-6-inch boards instead of the regular 2-by-4s.Attach studs to the both
sides of the base and top plates in an alternating patterns. Use tow 2-by-2s at the end of the walls so
you have something to nail drywall to on both sides of the wall.

-3.2 Resilient Channels

Resilient channel is a thin metal channel that is intelligently designed to substantially improve the
sound insulation of drywall, sheetrock, plasterboard walls and ceilings. The channel effectively
isolates drywall from the framing studwork, which results in the weakening of sound waves
substantially.
Installation of resilient channel to the walls is an easy and effortless process. The channel, which
measures about 1/2 in thickness, provides you dramatic results when compared to similar products
available in the market. The acoustic qualities of the channel can be improved by applying thin

6.0 Conclusion
The main aim of studies within this project was to investigate how a structure is constructed within
its desired properties. I get the knowledge about the basic & advanced techniques of building
construction as well as saw the challenges which a civil engineer have to face during construction.
For example, labour problems, cost management, environmental challenges etc. I have cleared my
many doubts regarding building construction. Project needs a very good coordination and large
quantities of man power, equipment andfunds.
