UCL Organisational Leadership Tier


OVERVIEW OF LEARNING OUTCOMES
Purpose of Organisational Leadership Tier
This new tier of UCL Program will introduce students to key concepts in organisational leadership.
Students will be encouraged to self-identify areas for development and further research, with an open
attitude for collaborative learning and respect for diverse strengths. The tools, exercises and resources
provided in the workshops will enable students to independently continue further study of best practices
in an organisational setting.
Learning Outcomes; Upon completion of the following workshops, participants will be able to:
Ethical Leadership

Understand the significance and relevance of ethical leadership in different domains


Examine ways to incorporate ethics into organisational strategy as it grows in its responsibility to
its stakeholders
Develop personal ways to uphold ethical integrity in individual leadership practice
Discuss ways to encourage and improve the implementation of ethical practice within the
organisation

Organisational Leadership

Explore basic concepts of organisational leadership


Identify key skills that facilitate organisational processes
Plan strategies to improve / develop skills in organisational leadership

Emotional Intelligence

Explore emotional intelligence, including emotional literacy, skills, application, and development
strategies
Self-Identify strengths and practice skill development in possible improvement areas
Learn to understand and use our emotions purposefully, and respond to others constructively and
effectively

Social Entrepreneurship

Define what the term Social Entrepreneurship means in comparison to the classical idea of
Entrepreneurship
Identify Entrepreneurship as an important element for future leaders wanting to empower
communities around them.
Understanding select guiding principles behind success in entrepreneurship
Apply above principles in the University and elsewhere around the community

Event Management

Explore various aspects of event planning, organisation and management


Plan an event and exchange feedback with peers and staff
Learn where to find resources on campus
