"Religion and the Unmaking of Prejudice toward Muslims: Evidence from a Large National
Sample." National Center for Biotechnology Information. U.S. National Library of
Medicine, n.d. Web. 10 Nov. 2016.
In this article, Shaver explains what Islamophobia is and why it is important that we fully
understand what it is and means. It also poses the question if other religions seem to promote
violence and prejudice against Muslims or if they teach others not to act hateful toward them.
The article gives plenty examples and statistics about Islamophobia which makes this article very
useful for my IP paper. It also will help me give a better explanation of what Islamophobia is.
The article is a scholarly review article with plenty of sources cited making it a very credible
source to use in my inquiry proposal.
"The Vicious Circle of Religious Prejudice: Islamophobia Makes the Acculturation
Attitudes of Majority and Minority Members Clash." - Kunst. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Nov.
2016.
This article talks about Islamophobia in the western world and the affect it has on Muslims.
There was a study conducted in this article with Muslim people and it is a study on what happens
to them later on in life as they start to experience prejudices against them because of their
religion. This article is very useful to me because I can use it to give examples on what
Islamophobia is and it will help me explain how Muslims are affected by it. This is a credible
source being it is a scholarly peer reviewed article and lists its sources throughout the article.

Emeritus Professor of Law, DePaul University College of Law, and President,

International Institute for the Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences, Siracusa, Italy. This
Article is based in part on the Introduction to my 2014 book
The SharPa and Islamic
Criminal Justice in Time of War and Peace.
This article talks about how people in the Western world, like the United States, seem to
misunderstand Islam and Muslim people which just adds fuel to the fire. It talks about how since
we are so misinformed on the religion and these people that we are more likely to act out
violently against them especially after 9/11. This article gives me exactly what Im looking for
because it explains how Muslim people are not who everyone stereotypes them to be. I could
possibly use this article in my paper for paraphrasing.

"Islamophobia: Meaning, Manifestations, Causes :: By Mustafa Abu Sway." Islamophobia:

Meaning, Manifestations, Causes :: By Mustafa Abu Sway. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Nov. 2016.
This article is another article that gives you the meaning and causes of Islamophobia.
Previous articles didnt really explain what causes it as much as this one did. This article will be
very useful in my paper so I can help the audience understand where Islamophobia is coming
from and why people feel the way that they do toward Muslims. The article is a very credible
source being it is scholarly reviewed and has sources listed at the end of it.
"Patterns of Prejudice." Confronting Islamophobia in the United States: Framing Civil Rights
Activism among Middle Eastern Americans: : Vol 43, No 3-4. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Nov.
2016.

This article talks about how we perceive Islamophobia, it talks about how its the fear of
Islam but now we see it as more of a racial issue as opposed to just a religious one. It also talks
about love and peace and activism and I think this is literally perfect for me to use in my paper
because part of the reason I want to write my paper on this is because I want to think of myself
as a social activist and this would really help me out. This article will be very useful in writing
my paper.
"Patterns of Prejudice." The Crusade over the Bodies of Women: : Vol 43, No 3-4. N.p., n.d. Web.
10 Nov. 2016.
This article also just gives you a lot more information on the origin of Islamophobia and
Islamophobia in the west. It also talks about prejudices and violence on Muslim women
and how its easier to stereotype them because usually they have to wear certain things
and they stick out to people. This will be useful for me to use in my IP paper because it
will help me go more in depth with explaining the origin of Islamophobia. Also I wanted
to incorporate something about Muslim women and traditional clothing and this gives a
lot of information on that. This article has good credibility.
"Personality and Individual Differences." - Journal. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Nov. 2016.
This article describes the results of three different studies using three different college
students and it shows how Christianity and Islamophobia are related and if practicing
Christianity gives you a higher chance at being more prejudice toward different religious
groups. This is a very useful article because in my paper I want to describe how different
religions react to Islam.
