Only those candidates who have completed 10 years and below 11 years of age as on 01 Jul 2017 are eligible. The candidate
should have been born between 02 Jul 2006 and 01 Jul 2007. The admission will be made on the basis of an All India Sainik Schools
Entrance Examination. The Examination for the forthcoming academic session will be held on 15 Jan 2017 (Sunday). The last date for
receipt of duly filled in applications in the School is 30 Nov 2016. Only prescribed proforma as given at Appendix 'A' is to be filled in all
respects as per the instructions as well as guidelines given in the School Prospectus (can be downloaded from School website:

Application Form (Appendix 'A') along with the following documents completed in all respects must reach to the Principal, Sainik
Similar copies of recent passport size photographs (colour or black & white) taken on or after 17 Oct 2016 are to be affixed
The photographs affixed on the Application Form and Admit Cards must be attested by the Head of the Institution (Principal/
Headmaster of the School) in which the boy is studying. In case of Private Study (applicable only for class VI), the same must be
attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Properly filled in Admit Cards (Appendix 'B') with details. The candidates should append his signature at designated place.

Attach a Certificate of Proof of Date of Birth obtained from a recognised School in which studying. In case of Private Study
(applicable only for class VI), attach a photocopy of Birth Certificate obtained from the Registrar of Births & Deaths, Municipal
Corporation / Nagar Panchayat duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Only those boys who are within the age limits are eligible to apply. There is no relaxation of age limits to any category.

Candidates who have appeared earlier in the Entrance Examination to Class VI and IX are not eligible to appear again for

The School does not patronize any coaching centre/institute. The admissions will be made strictly in accordance with the merit and
Guidelines for Medical Examination of Boys seeking admission into Sainik School Nalanda will be same as required for entry into

The School fee is required to be paid in FULL at the time of admission. The scholarship amount will be
adjusted on receipt of the same from Govt of Bihar/Ministry of Defence at the end of the year.

In case of any increase of School fee and other charges by the Board of Governors, Sainik Schools Society,
parents / guardians are required to pay the difference in amount without fail.
Payment of School Fee on or after Admission

All payments are to be made in favour of the Principal, Sainik School Nalanda payable at State Bank of India, Rajgir
Branch (Code No 3499) or Central Bank of India, Rajgir Branch or Punjab National Bank (PNB), Pawapuri Branch (Code No
294200). Payments of school fee / dues are only to be made in the School Accounts Section. Payment of dues to any other
School employees other than those employed in Accounts Section will be entirely at the risk and responsibility of the person
making the payment.
Scholarships

The Govt of Bihar grants income based scholarships for Bihar domiciled students every year on the basis of income
of parents/guardian.

Govt of Bihar shall grant Rs 12,685/- as dietary supplement every year to Bihar domiciled boys, in addition to the

Defence Scholarship
8.
Ministry of Defence (MoD) awards scholarship to the children of Service Personnel including Ex-servicemen
studying in Sainik Schools. The amount of Scholarship would be determined on the basis of rank of the personnel. The

The eligibility for continuation/retention of Defence/State Government Scholarship to cadets from classes VI to VIII is
as follows:(a)
He obtains a minimum of 33 grade points in total.
(b)
He is not reported upon adversely regarding discipline.
(c)
He is otherwise eligible for the continuance of scholarship on the basis of rank or income of his parent, as the
case may be.
(d)
SC/ST cadets securing 30 grade points in aggregate would be eligible for retention of scholarship.
10.
The eligibility for continuation/retention of Defence/State Government Scholarship to cadets for classes IX and X is as
follows:(a)
He obtains a minimum of 28 grade points in total.
(b)
He is not reported upon adversely regarding discipline.
(c)
He is otherwise eligible for the continuance of scholarship on the basis of rank or income of his parent, as the
case may be.
(d)
SC/ST cadets securing 25 grade points in aggregate would be eligible for retention of scholarship.
11.
The eligibility for continuation/retention of Defence/State Government Scholarship to cadets for classes XI is as
follows:(a)
He obtains a minimum of 55% in aggregate in the annual examination with not less than 45% in each subject.
(b)
He is not reported upon adversely regarding discipline.
(c)
He is otherwise eligible for the continuance of scholarship on the basis of rank or income of his parent, as the
case may be.
(d)
SC/ST cadets securing 50% in aggregate and not less than 40% in each subject.
12.
In addition to the above Scholarships, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India has also introduced a monetary grant to
share the financial burden of the parents/guardians and granting an approx amount of Rs15,000/- (variable) per annum to all
the students of Sainik Schools irrespective of parents/guardians income and domicile.
13.
An income certificate attested by District Magistrate/appropriate authority has to be submitted to the school
at the beginning of the new academic session and before 15 May, every year for the award/renewal of State Govt
Scholarship. Defence personnel (Serving/Ex-servicemen) should submit Service Certificate, Pay slip, Ex-servicemen Certificate and Pension Certificate, as applicable for renewal of Scholarship, every year.
