practices that may or may not take place in

their own families.
Setting the state question: Students will list
holidays that we celebrate in the United
States and we will talk about why those
Holidays would or would not be celebrated in
the French community.
Teachers (Takira & Josh) will explain that
Easter is a holiday that is celebrated in both
the United States and France, which is why we
chose to present about it.
1) Do you celebrate Easter?
This is where students have the opportunity
to talk about holidays they celebrate other
than Easter. We want all students to feel
included and this is why we started with this
question.

Teaching Stage
You should use input strategies to teach
and model new material in the target
language. Present with lots of visuals
and comprehensible and compelling
input.

For those who dont celebrate Easter, we can

explain its origin and what the celebration
looks like.
2) What does Easter look like in your
family/community?
3) What does Easter mean to you and
your family?
4) In your own words, what is the
purpose of Easter? Did the original
meaning of Easter get lost?
5) What do you think is different about
how Easter is celebrated in France?
Teacher will give a presentation about various
traditions for Easter in France, including food
and other practices.

circulates to monitor but is a facilitator
at this point.

Evaluation/Assessment

show evidence of what they have
learned; this task should show you
whether or not your learning objectives
were met by students

Students will match vocabulary words to

picture.
NEW: Students will participate in an activity
which will be determined with Takira & Josh
meet on Wednesday after doing reserach on
other cultural aspects that students can learn
about in France. This is mostly because we
ended up having extra time.*
Students will take a mini-quiz (multiple
choice) based on the learning objectives to
test their knowledge of newly learned
material.

Closure

Teacher will let students know how this lesson

Close the lesson with a quick review

task, exit pass, game, etc.

relates to what we will be doing next time.

Exit pass is that students must say Joyeuse
Pques.
What did you learn today? Are there any
questions?
