Taking into account the discussions about language, perception, reality and

culture; develop the following exercise:

1. Look at the images in the power point presentation.
2. Write some words or expressions related to the pictures, according to what
you think or believe about each one of them. Then, explain how each image is
related to a specific assumption where there is a relation between language
and perception of reality.

1 picture:
Words relatated to :terrorist, warrior, slavery, war, revolution, armed
conflict, Palestine, religion.
I see first in this picture a Military fighter or better known a terrorist is the
approach, I share my view that Situates around of Israeli empire in military
relations with the imperial regimes of Great Britain, Germany and the United
States. Furthermore I personal can see an attempt of LEGO company to inform
to media the politic effects that this war in middle east would do to a word wide
,so that I can take from the images of the LEGO toy.

Language and perception of reality:

It is truthfully said that the environment influences important social factors, like
language, shared ideas in which the sharers of our social surroundings state in
same reality this how reality exist and its perceive in different area some ones
should see from first sight a toy with weapons, others will see a kind of soldier
but we need to know the context that the character is representing by mean of
a toy , it comes from a military reality , one different to other countries like
canada .
The perfection is important aspect, the way we visualize reality, our reality and
there is no objective reality which exists independent of language. For instance,
that explosive diarrhea may be a cultural reaction to your own conceptions of
food. Example a dish of frijoles never should be served with a cup of milk.
Perhaps different languages represent multiple ways to think also thoughts
based on reality as Worf proposed.
Language determines what I can think, describe objectively often these aspects
are influenced by peoples perceptions and their behaviors. For instance, let
see how a LEGO toy can influence different perceptions like slavery, revolution,
religion, armed conflict further than be words these are considered also grim
reality that comes from a higher level of perception as we know war . where is
it?, maybe in Palestine or somewhere else nearby east .
2 picture:

Words related:, pure , Divine, Christianity, Judaism, heaven, celestial being,

Jesus, Christ, picture, portrait of god , commandments
It would be understandable that reality allowed us made such argument ,since
language permits bound a big word like is God , more than reach respect from
us is more focused in a divine being , it parts from religions this picture of lord (
Jesus Crist). Would be represent Christianity or could also represent a protestor
against Judaism once again the purpose of this images is only one. Put and
keep in our mind the idea of heaven some commandments that humankind
need to follow to reach the celestial prize.

Language and perception of reality:

Religion part from a doctrinal perspective, we need first to know who is the
person represented in the pictures then we only can discriminate, even more
feel if this image is blessed or divine. Religion works more from our beliefs, our
perceptions of good or bad seen for doing regarded to God Lord. The principle
of linguistic relativity holds that the structure of a language affects the ways in
which its speakers conceptualize their world (view, ethical and moral ), or
otherwise influences their cognitive processes. The way the change their
behaviors when they are in front of a divine portrait of god .

3 picture:
Word related to :Native, Africans, afro descendants family, tribe

The hypothesis of linguistic determinism is now generally no going to be

relevant , although many researchers still study weaker forms of correlation,
often producing positive empirical evidence for a correlation of social groups as
I see in this picture of native Afro-Americans or that is what my perception of
reality said to me .they also could be indigenes probably they live somewhere
in America or they should be a native group from Africa , since the first thing I
see is their skin color. We can designate differences which we have in our social
surrounding; we can affirm that they are not indigenes that reside in Colombia.

Language and perception of reality:

Based on determinism we establish that is available that these people are part
of a tribe and more specific, they are native for unspecific region or continent
which we unknown. They also could be indigenes .Probably they live
somewhere in America or they should be a native group from Africa, since the

first thing we see is their skin color. We can designate differences which we
have since our social surrounding; we can affirm that they are not indigenes
that reside in Colombia.

4 picture:
Words related to: graduation, success. Goal, committed, sacrifice, professional
At this part graduation is the first thing we can think when we see the
graduation cap in other different name the biretta we make a prediction, which
is someone has graduated due to big effort , a goal based on committed
,success ,sacrifice in order to become professional.

Language and perception of reality:

Language entirely determines the thickness of cognitive processes. The

hypothesis of linguistic determinism is this example and in the last ones that
conform the basis of the next explanation. We assume that language is not
itself a representational tool; rather it uses fundamentally a personal
construction, it shapes ones that come from our perception as we have done in
last examples we have discriminated some images, which is detected within
consciousness ideas that language allows to produce, as a thought, intuition,
deduction, a good effort in our relativity which means being relative to
something else. Outside our own bubble. We contextualize our ideas regarded
to what we have understood then, we discriminate against our own mental
contractions after that, we evaluate and represent the both things reality and
thoughts as only one.

Use the theory to support your ideas, use references.
