To pay IPSF Annual Membership Fee of organisations from low or lower middle income countries (as
defined by the World Bank list of Economies);
To financially support IPSF activities undertaken by members;
To financially support participation by members in IPSF events; and
To award Student Exchange Programme Grants.
These guidelines were designed to ensure member organisation applicants will be fully aware of the selection
process as well as the expectations, restrictions and consequences of an application. It is essential that
member organisations understand this grant is awarded to enable them to continue to implement IPSF events
in their home country. This grant will apply to the IPSF Annual Membership Fee for 2016-2017; however the
benefits to the organisation and its pharmacy students and young pharmacists in member countries are long
lasting. Please note that the Membership Fee Grant can only be used to cover IPSF Membership fees
for 2016-2017 and cannot be used to cover old debts or SEP fees.
3. Completion of the application form
Please make sure that you complete the application form accurately and add any additional information you
feel is relevant to the selection process. Every section must be completed for an application form to be valid. If
you cannot complete a section, please provide an explanation as to why it is not possible. An application
must be signed by the Member Organisations President and IPSF Contact Person.
3.1. Sponsors: Pharmacy Student Organisations thinking about applying for the IPSF Annual Membership
Fee Grant should try to obtain sponsorship to meet some of the cost of the membership fee. National, local
and private bodies often have a budget to support these kinds of initiatives. Take these first steps by
contacting potential sponsors immediately as it often takes a long time period before receiving a response.
You might even be surprised and secure more sponsors than you initially anticipated! It is necessary to
enclose the letter you have sent and the reply you received from at least one sponsor.
4. Who is involved in the DF grant selection procedure?
4.1. The decision-making committee who will consider applications is the Development Fund Committee,
which consists of four representatives from different countries and the IPSF Treasurer. It is chaired by the
Development Fund Coordinator and has three Development Fund committee members. This committee
discusses issues relating to the selection process and ways to optimise the impact of these grants at a local
level.
4.2. The applicant is an IPSF Member Organisation, either a Full Member or a Member in Association from a
low or lower income country (as defined by the World Bank list of Economies). You can find this list at the
following website: http://data.worldbank.org/about/country-classifications/country-and-lending-groups. The
applicant organisation must have held IPSF Membership for at least one full year previously. In addition, a
member country may only apply for a Development Fund Grant on two occasions within a consecutive three
year period.
Selected or not, the applicant organisation is expected to give accurate information and add any information
that would be relevant in the consideration of their application.
If the applicant organisation is selected to receive the grant, it must comply with the following obligations:
The DF Membership Grant recipients must organise at least one IPSF activity (campaign, project or
event) during the 12 months following receipt of the grant. Participation in the Student Exchange
Programme (unless this will be the first year that the particular country has hosted a SEP student) or
attendance at an IPSF event outside of the member organisations country does not fulfill this
requirement.
The DF Membership Grant recipients must submit at least one article to the IPSF News Bulletin or
IPSF Newsletter detailing the IPSF activity held in their country.
The DF Membership Grant recipients must produce a report addressed to the Development Fund
Committee and IPSF Executive Board detailing a review of IPSF events and activities within the
member country in the 2016-2017 term following receipt of the grant. This detailed report should
outline the activties, but also reflect on the plan set out in the grant application. The deadline for this
report is the 30th of September 2017, at the conclusion of the 2016-2017 term.
