ACQUIANTANCE PARTY
o Officer Assigned: PRESIDENT
o The officers should be able to present a proposal for the acquaintance party
with the following details: date, time, place, contribution and if fundraising
will be needed. Dr. Samonte offered options like the hospital as the venue to
minimize cost.
o No out-of-town venue. As much as possible find a place near the hospital.
o Minimize cost.
o Party responsibly. Dr. Samonte will be there to oversee the program.
o ALL INTERNS WILL BE EXCUSED FROM 12:00 noon upto the
DEPARTMENTS TIME-IN the following day. Interns should be able to
report to post the day after the party, if warranted.
INTERNS DIRECTORY

 INTERNS HOUR
o ALL INTERNS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE INTERNS HOURS
REGARDLESS OF STATUS. From duty interns need to wait for the interns
hour before leaving. They can only leave their corresponding posts only
when the interns hour is cancelled.
o Provide weekly topics/agenda. NO TOPICS. NO INTERNS HOUR. NOT
EXCUSED FROM POSTS. All topics/agenda should be approved by Dr.
Samonte or any other consultants.
o If Dr. Samonte cannot attend the Tuesday interns hour, it will be rescheduled
as long as all departments agree.
o All interns hour should be supervised
UNIFORM
o 2-week allowance period already past
o Proper uniform: 2 inches below the knee
o When you are on duty, you can wear scrub suit in the evening (6:00pm)
o Everyone should be in complete uniform including patch by July 16, 2016
CHRISTMAS PARTY AND OTHER PROGRAMS
o Christmas season usually skeletal.
o RETREAT: out-of-town, more than one day
o Make sure the programs are worthwhile and will not excuse you from your
posts for a long time
o Other holiday parties can also be proposed. Fundraising can also be done:
cake raffle, selling flowers on Valentines Day, etc.
OTHER CONCERNS/ISSUES
o Before the end of major rotations (IM, PEDIA, OB, SURGERY), ALL INTERNS
will present a case (individually) and the department will choose/recommend
a representative case presentation which will be included in the search for
the best interns case presentation at the end of the year.
o Community rotators will be having their rotations with the ER interns
temporarily. Possible communities under negotiation are: Malate (near
Aristocrat) and Provincial house in Bicutan, hopefully be finalized in one to
two months. If your community medicine date of rotation lapsed and there
are still no final community venue, you will not need to rotate in community
anymore.
o The most outstanding intern will be chosen at the end of the year: 1 st, 2nd, 3rd
place.
Temporary criteria: grades, attitude, case presentation,
recommendation by the consultants.
o Corresponding Time-In:
PEDIA: 7:30am
IM: 7:00am
ER/COMM: 8:00am
SURGERY: 6:30am
OB: 7:00am
RADIO/REHAB: 8:00am
o Corresponding Time-Out:
PEDIA: 4:00pm
IM: 4:30pm (pre-duty), 12:00nn (from duty)
ER/COMM: 4:00pm
SURGERY: 5:00pm

 OB: once all patients leave in OPD

RADIO: 12:00nn
REHAB: 6:00pm
o There are still incoming interns, they will be assigned to groups who are
undermanned
o ONLY THOSE WHO ARE ON 24-HOUR DUTY WILL HAVE THEIR FREE
LUNCH AND DINNER
o QUARTERS: no specific quarters for interns on duty. DORMS for 6 interns only
so far. And dorms are not available yet, not yet approved.
