Idea
Situation
During defrost cycles in the freezer room (-4C to -25C depending on cases), steam is
produced which condenses on the fan, freezes, and can obstruct the blades. This of course
does not happen over just 1 or 2 cycles but over 20 or more as it accumulates.
Nozzles of evaporators as well as of heat pumps and similar devices have the risk of getting ice
inside the nozzle. A frost protection system can provide a suitable solution.

Idea
Limitations

This was for some customers a reason to postpone the

usage of ZAplus on there unit, because there is no
suitable standard heater on the market.
NOW we can provide the new ZAplus Heater which is
designed and tested especially for the usage on ZAplus.

Solution
The frost protection system consists of applying
heat to the appropriate areas of the housing in
order to avoid condensation and therefore ice
building up.
This will allow the fan to rotate freely and not
cause any obstruction with the blades.
Ambient temperature range down to -40C.
Heating system powered at 230V (+optional at
400V)

Tests
Function
Based on intensive calculations and tests :
Defrost cycle lasts between 25min-45min.
Condensates appear between 7-15min after the defrost cycle is started.
The power of the heater depends on the diameter and is from 180W up to 550W.

Details
Safety
The Heater is equipped with a thermostat as well as
a thermo fuse. Herewith we limit the max.
temperature of the Heater to max. 60C.
The thermostat has to be always on TOP position
The life time for the heater is approx.:
With jacket: 8 years
Without jacket: 10 years
