Matters Arising:
The Committee Secretary Engr. Baba Mai Wudiri informed
members that the report of the Committee was
applauded by the EXCO of the Branching. In the words of
the Branch Chairman Engr E. J. Upahi this is the First the
Nigerian Content Committee was meeting, sending their
report and plan of action. The Branch EXCO mandated
the Committee to do the following:
1. Send all Technical papers to the Technical
Committee Chaired by Engr O. C. Ochu, FNSE at least
two weeks before presentation for vetting.
2. Send in the Total cost for the Safety training to the
Workshop and Seminar Committee Chaired by Engr
Abdul Audu.
3. Send the Cost of bring the Speaker for the End of
Year activities.
He also informed members that the The Nigerian Oil
and Gas Industry Content Development Act 2010
has been emailed to members who have subscribed to
the Branch Google group.
REMARKS
Opening:
The meeting commenced by 4:32 pm with an opening
prayer by Engr. Oladimeji Taiwo. The meeting was
Chaired by Engr. Dr. J. O. Daudu, FNSE.

Local Content Guidelines in INFORMATION AND
COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT):
The Chairman informed members of the about policy and
its potential to inform the livelihood of Engineers, where Members
it deals with software applications, hosting multiple
websites on one domain and many more. The Secretary Engr Baba
promised to email members the policy guide while the Mai Wudiri
Chairman encouraged members to go through it. The
policy will be forwarded to NSE Branch members after
this months meeting.
COLLABORATIONS WITH THE NATIONAL NIGERIAN
CONTENT COMMITTEE AT NSE HEADQUATERS
The Chairman requested that the Branch should liaise
with NSE Headquarters, to know what the National
Committee is doing and how the Branch Committee can
partner with them to make the Nigerian Content dream a
reality.
NIGERIAN CONTENT IN OTHER AREAS
Engr S. Etsu Umar suggested the need to apply the
Nigerian policy in other aspects of the Nigerian Economy,
he gave an example with regards to Hybrid Feeds where
60% of their concentrates are imported and many of
their machineries also. He believes some of these
Concentrates and Machines can be obtained locally. After
much deliberations, it was agreed that the Branch should
invite members of the Nigerian Content Committee on
every Industrial visit by both the Branch and Divisions.
This is to enable members of the Committee to look the
Nigerian Content of such Industries and proffer
alternative solutions.
CLOSING
Engr. S. Etsu Umar, moved for the adjournment of the
meeting to 20th May 2014. Engr. Baba Mai Wudiri said the
closing pray by 5:43 pm.
