Dear Parents:

The Murchison Science Fair is approaching quickly! The Campus Fair judging will
take place the morning of Wednesday, January 25, 2017, with family viewing on
Thursday, January 26, 2017, in conjunction with our annual STEM Night. We hope you can
join us for this great event.
All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are required to complete a project, BUT are NOT REQUIRED
to enter the Murchison Science Fair. Each classroom teacher will give information about the
requirements for the project.
Please return the form below to indicate the following:
If your child wishes to enter his project for judging in the Campus Fair (requires completion
of a tri-fold Project Board)
If you wish for your childs project to be considered for the Austin Regional Science Fair.
If your child does NOT want his completed project to be judged at the Campus Fair.

I understand that by checking the box(es) below, signing, and returning this form to school
by November 30, I am asking that my project:

Be entered as a project to be judged in consideration for Campus Science Fair awards

Be considered as a project to represent my campus at the regional fair, held at the Palmer
Events Center in Austin on Saturday, February 18, 2017 (project check in by parents and
students at Palmer Events Center on Friday afternoon, February 17, 2017). I understand that by
signing this form, I am NOT automatically moving forward to the regional festival, but that I
am agreeing to represent my campus should my judged project be chosen.
**Checking either of the boxes above means that I am required to prepare a Tri Fold
Board. A Science Fair Board is required for judged projects at campus and regional levels.
