my clip board and check off at when I see the childs
knowledge. Is there butterfly equal on both sides.

Review what the children have learned already about a
butterfly. The children will be able to add on to the KWL
charts

Does anyone know anything special about a butterfly?
The butterfly is symmetrical which means what? Lets
look at a picture of a butterfly to find out what
symmetrical means.

on a butterfly we are going to very quietly and slowly fly
back to our seats to start our activity for the day.

What the children have just learned about a butterfly to

Modeling of the Concept
My example will be up on the board along with me
demonstrating the activity for the children.
Guiding the Practice
Explain the activity before letting the children try on their
own. Give directions with detail explanations. Example:
We will out paint on one side of the paper once you are
done fold the paper in half and press lite on the paper.
Once you are done open the picture up careful to open
the picture up it my stick.
Providing the Independent Practice
The children will be in groups so they can share the
paint. The children will trace or draw their own butterfly.
Once the picture of a butterfly is on there paper they will
put any shape or design one side of the paper. Once they
are done painting the children will fold there paper in half
to make the butterfly symmetrical.

To transition clap something and let the children class
back to you so everyone is on the say page.
