Room BN-0-030, ext. 6330
E-mail: Vignesh@uniten.edu.my

This course provides the fundamental skills for basic processes

related to basic manufacturing technologies. Manufacturing
processes including metal removal processes (lathe, milling,
shaping, drilling and grinding) and welding operations are
conducted in this laboratory. This course also exposes the student
on using the hand tools and measuring tools. A basic workshop
safety practice is introduced to the students.

Course Objectives

1) To expose students to safe manufacturing lab practices and

regulation
2) To teach the students on using hand tools and precision tools
properly
3) To teach the students on the usage of basic machine tools
including lathe machine, drilling, milling and grinding.
4) To expose the students on basic welding process

Transferrable Skills

Ability to use conventional machines such as lathe, milling,

drilling and grinding.
Ability to use common measuring and hand tools.
