Unable to Program Parameters

Problem: A defect in ESA 4.4.9.255 prevents dealer technicians from programming

parameters on vehicles with 6-digit chassis numbers, which is almost all vehicles.
The following error message displays.

Resolution: A fixed version of ESA will be released within a few days. In the
meantime, programming parameters is available but the chassis number needs to
be set to 17 characters. There are two ways to set the chassis number to a full 17
characters.
Option 1 Set to Engine VIN

Click Connect to connect to the vehicle

Click Program to view the chassis number and parameters
If the engine is connected and the VIN is different from the chassis number on
the CECU3
o The Set to Engine VIN button is enabled which will allow users to set
the chassis number

Click the Set to Engine VIN button and click the Program button to update
the chassis number

Option 2 Chassis number is set by a District Service Manager

Contact a DSM if option 1 does not work for you.
