___________1. A data storage device used for storing and retrieving digital
information using one or more rigid ("hard") rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated
with magnetic material. The platters are paired with magnetic heads arranged on a
moving actuator arm, which read and write data to the platter surfaces.
___________2. A storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies as memory to
store data persistently.
___________3. A pointing device featuring a tactile sensor, a specialized surface that
can translate the motion and position of a user's fingers to a relative position on the
operating system that is outputted to the screen.
___________4. A form of computer data storage. A device that allows data items to be
accessed (read or written) in almost the same amount of time irrespective of the
physical location of data inside the memory. However, stored information is lost if
power is removed
___________5. The main printed circuit board (PCB) found in computers and other
expandable systems. It holds and allows communication between many of the
crucial electronic components of a system, such as the central processing unit (CPU)
and memory, and provides connectors for other peripherals.
___________6. Devices that are used to put information into or get information out of
the computer.
___________7. A device that feeds or streams its image in real time to or through a
computer to computer network.
___________8. These are computers used primarily by large organizations for critical
applications, banks, bulk data processing such as census, industry and consumer
statistics, enterprise resource planning and transaction processing.
___________9. A computer with a high-level computational capacity compared to a
general-purpose computer. These computers play an important role in the field of
computational science, and are used for a wide range of computationally intensive
tasks.
___________10. A proprietary audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed
video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data. It is a digital
replacement for analog video standards.
___________11. A computer software, written to control machines or devices that are
not typically thought of as computers.
