Q&A On Gabons Stolen Election


with former Prime Minister and Attorney General
Members of the media are invited to take part in a Q&A session with Gabons former Deputy
Prime Minister and Attorney General, Dr. Sraphin Moundounga, on the election dispute
that prompted his resignation and threatens to undo the longstanding legacy of peace in the
Central African nation.

A former high-ranking official and member of parliament of the ruling Gabonese Democratic
Party, Dr. Moundounga abruptly resigned from his cabinet position in the wake of a brutal
crackdown on peaceful demonstrators early September. The protests were sparked by Pres.
Ali Bongos refusal to concede defeat following the August 31, 2016 presidential election.
