Unit Outcomes
Psychomotor:
Demonstrates the ability to perform at least 3 exercises each to improve muscular strength,
muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility with correct form (SHAPE:
S1.H3.L1; MACF: 2.20).
Demonstrate the ability to practice cardiovascular endurance or muscular
strength/endurance on a given piece of fitness equipment (cardio or weight training) by
using correct form at least once by the end of the unit (SHAPE: S1.H3.L1; MACF: 2.20;
Task: All).
Cognitive:
Identifies at least 3 health-related and 4 skill-related components of fitness and the
importance of each in living a healthy lifestyle by answering correctly orally or on a
worksheet (SHAPE: S3.H9.L1; MACF: 2.1).
Create and implements an individual fitness program/workout based on previously
identified goals and skill levels that includes at least 3 components of fitness (health and
skill-related) (SHAPE: S3.H12.L1).
Affective:
Demonstrates the ability to participate in physical activities safely both individually and with
others (small groups, partners) throughout the entire unit (SHAPE: S4.H5.L1; MACF: 2.26).
Demonstrate personally responsible/safe behaviors by using all equipment safely and
maintaining good form as instructed by the teacher throughout the unit (SHAPE: S4.H2.L1;
MACF: 2.26).
