Prerequisites:
Student should have the basic knowledge of management, finance and accounts and airports.

Course Objectives:
The objectives of the course are to enable students to:
1. Understand the historical development of airports and identify the operational factors
affecting airports.
2. Understand regulations affecting airport management, environmental and legal concerns
associated with airport management.
3. Identify facility planning and maintenance issues and Understand public airport funding.
4. Understand the importance of marketing and public relations, factors associated with
airport design and security measures.

organization chart. Airport manager and public relations.
UNIT-II (CO3)
THE AIRFIELD & AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
Components of an airport-The airfield-Navigation aids (NAVAIDS) located on airfields- Air traffic
control management -Basics of air traffic control-Current and future enhancements to air traffic
control.

AIRPORT TERMINALS AND GROUND ACCESS & AIRPORT SECURITY


Components of airport terminal-Airport ground access-Transportation Security AdministrationSecurity at commercial service airports-Security at general aviation airports.
UNIT-IV (CO5)
AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Pavement management-Aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) =Snow and ice control-Bird and
wildlife hazard management.
Budgeting & Revenue strategies at commercial airports-Pricing of airport facilities and servicesAirport funding-Airport financing and accounting-Private investment.

AIRPORT CAPACITY AND DELAY
Defining capacity-Factors affecting capacity and delay-estimating capacity-Simulation ModelsDefining delay-Estimating delay- Approaches to reduce delay.
