Work Experience, Awards, Research, Other (add lines as needed):
We are primarily interested in your activities in supply chain management; however, activities and evidence
of initiative, drive, leadership, and achievement are also important.
I have 3 years of work experience of managing operations at Indias largest passenger car OEM, Suzuki
motors India. During these 3 years, I led engineering side of procurement from more than 10 global
suppliers. Once the designing phase of the project was over, my team was responsible for preparing RRFQs,
sending out RFQs, receiving and analyzing quotations. Based on these quotations, we were responsible for
setting up of technical and specification review meetings with the prospective suppliers.
After supplier selection, we worked closely with the Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to release parts into
production. During my 3 years at Suzuki, I have had a chance to work and learn with some of the largest

vehicle seating suppliers.

On the academic front, I have always strived to achieve excellent results. I was a gold medalist during my
bachelors and currently have a GPA of 3.89 in my masters. Alongside my academics, I am also a teaching
assistant for a senior business course (Business simulation) and photographer for the Penn State
homecoming events.
Before starting my masters in USA, I was the presiding head of a NGO. The NGO catered to the educational
and sanitary needs of the underprivileged children in Patiala. As a part of this initiative, around 40 students
were given free evening classes to help them with elementary mathematics and English. Government of
India recognized my contribution to the society and I was amongst a selected group of 100 students to
witness the Indian republic day parade of 2012.
I believe, I have the right mix of leadership qualities, educational qualifications and professional experience
to represent Penn State at this prestigious supply chain leaders program.
Please describe a key accomplishment in your supply chain related studies and/or work experience (add lines as
needed):
As part of a localization project at Suzuki motors India, I was able to achieve a cost saving of 1.2 million
Indian rupees per annum. I worked with Toyo seats to move their seat slider assembly production plant from
Hungary into India. We were able to successfully implement this project by improving our vendor base in
India and implementing stringent quality gates at existing suppliers.
During my supply chain studies, we optimized delivery and warehouse network for a Kimberly-Clarke case
study. The problem had more than 800 variables and 1500 constraints. We were able to solve the problem
using GAMS and find a feasible warehousing network between suppliers and customer clusters scattered on
4 different countries.
Please describe why you are interested in the Supply Chain Leaders program and how it appeals to your current
vision of your future as a supply chain professional? (maximum 1,000 characters)
From everyday traffic jams to delayed trains to long queues at the local hospital, disorder continues to
prevail in India and the developing world. Growing up in such an environment, I have experienced how this
chaos perpetrates inefficiencies and affects quality of life. Providing quality and effective supply chain
systems in such a hostile environment is a complex problem, but one that I believe can be achieved by
bringing together the research and experience of supply chain professionals. The 2017 Oracle future supply
chain leaders program gives me a chance to choose from more than 150 sessions on various aspects of
supply chain and make progress towards establishing cost effective supply chains in developing markets.
This program will also give me a chance to network with some of the brightest minds in supply chain and
learn about the upcoming technologies in supply chain.

Reminder to also submit with this application:

1. Resume (.pdf file)
2. Letter of Recommendation (.pdf file)

By applying for the Supply Chain Leaders Program I understand that I will be held to the highest standard of
conduct representing my academic institution, including adhering to any and all applicable laws and my
