Ways to Build Collaborative Teams


I found this article to be useful one because being a student of MBA I should know the
importance of team work. We all have studied that its important to be able to survive in a team
and work with our teams, but after reading this article I came to know what factors makes a team
more successful in achieving its goals and in working within the team.
Things that I learned from this article are firstly in an organization building the team or placing
some individuals in a team is not necessary but placing individuals in such a way that they
should be able to cooperate with each other or in other words building a cooperative teams.
Secondly I came to know the factors that play a important role in the success of a team. Earlier
we thought that having Specialized persons in a team is enough but that not it, those specialized
persons will only be important only if they will cooperate with each other and as well as share
their knowledge.
Further in the team building I came to know that in order to make a team cooperative one the
executives play a significant role besides placing or developing a team , such as encouraging the
employees to develop a cooperative nature this can be done through different techniques
illustrated in the article such Providing Cooperative environment, demonstration of collaborative
behavior by the senior and lastly developing a cooperative culture in the organization.
In developing collaborative teams after reading this article I learned that The Companies HR
department does also play a very important role, because they are responsible for performance
evaluation and training. I understood the role of HR department in developing Collaborative
teams such as providing and supporting a sense of community by organizing different events
supporting this cause and as well as training the employs in order to polish their skills required to
be a part of collaborative teams.
Lastly I came to know about the importance of the structure of the team that how the team is
being structured and formed. I learned that for a successful collaborative team it is necessary to
have a good leader which should not only be task oriented but also he should develop na good
relationship with its team members. Further I came to know that in order to a team to be

collaborative and successful it should include individuals which should not be stranger to each
other and each one of them should be assigned a specific goal so that they may be able to share
their knowledge.
A team including individuals not familiar to each face a difficulty or spend more time in
developing a relationship of trust among the members which necessary one for a team to
cooperative.
