ASEAN INTEGRATION

INTRODUCTION
ASEAN is to create uplift the economic, political and cultural stability of the
country. Philippine a member of ASEAN INTEGRATION. It is a big challenge for
us because it make us to be a good citizen in this republic. Each country show
case its development in terms of economy and it is again a challenge for us
to increase the good rate of our economy.
II.
THE ASEAN COMMUNITY: A REGIONAL INTEGRATION OF NORMS VALUES
AND RESOURCES.
A. The ASEAN INTEGRATION has been of the central issues of public
debates in the recent years. Although these have given Filipinos an
overview of what the ASEAN may face once the regional community is
established in 2015 , a thorough discussion about ASEAN is still
imperative to fully comprehend what this process of integration seek to
accomplish.
B. On August 8, 1967 Bangkok, Thailand hosted the first convergence of
five Southeast nations, Indonesia Malaysia , Thailand, Philippines,
Singapore.
C. These countries recognizing their historical and cultural ties, common
difficulties and struggles and mutual interest established the association
of Southeast Nations ( ASEAN) Through the ASEAN (BANGKOK)
Declaration.
III.
AIMS AND PURPOSES
A. To accelerate the economic growth , social progress, and cultural
development in the region through joint endeavors in the spirit of
equality and partnership in order to strengthen the foundation for the
prosperous and peaceful community of Southeast Asian Nation
B. To promote regional peace and the stability through abiding respect for
justice and the rule of law in the relationship among countries of the
region and adherence to the principles of the United Nation Charter.
C. To promote active collaboration and mutual assistance on matters of
common interest in the economic social cultural technical and
administrative spheres .
D. To provide assistance to each other in the form of training and research
facilities in the educational professional technical and administrative
spheres.
E. To collaborate more effectively for the greater utilization of their
agriculture and industries the expansion of their trade including the
study of problems of international commodity trade the improvement
of their transportation and communication facilities and the raising of
the living standards of their people.
F. To promote Southeast Asian studies.
G. To maintain close and beneficial cooperation with existing international
regional organization with similar aims and purposes and explorer all
avenues for even closer cooperation among themselves.

IV.

FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES
*ASEAN member states have adopted the following principles, as
contained in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC)
of 1967:
A. Mutual respect for the independence, sovereignty equality territorial
integrity and national identity of all nations.
B. The right of every state to lead its national existence free from external
interference subversion and coercion.
C. Noninterference in the internal affairs of one another.
D. Settlement of differences or disputes by peaceful manner.
E. Renunciation of the threat or use of force.
F. Effective cooperation among themselves.

DECLARATION FOR THE ASEAN COMMUNITY

A. WE-The heads state or government of the association of Southeast Asian Nation


namely Brunei Darussalam the kingdom of Cambodia the Republic of Indonesia the
Lao Peoples democratic Republic , Malaysia. The union of Myanmar , the Republic of
the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the kingdom of Thailand and the socialist
republic of Vietnam on the occasion of the 14 ASEAN Summit in Cha-am Thailand.
B. RECALLING- The spirit in which the ASEAN founding fathers gathered in BANGKOK
in 1967 to create an organization that would help bring about a Southeast Asian
Region of peace, freedom and prosperity for their people.
C. RECOGNISING- The declaration of ASEAN Concord which seek to bring the ASEAN
vision 2020 into reality by setting the goal of building the ASEAN community 2020
comprising three pillars namely political security community economic
community and socio cultural community , all of which are closely intertwined and
mutually reinforcing for the purpose of ensuring durable peace, stability and shared
prosperity in the region.
D. INSPIRED By the spirit of a new ASEAN , As symbolized by the ASEAN charter,
we reaffirm our commitment to accelerating the establishment of the ASEAN
community comprising the aforementioned three pillars by 5 years to 2015, as
agreed in Cebu the Philippine in 2007.
E. EMPHASING- That narrowing the development gap shall remain an important task
to ensure the benefits of The ASEAN INTEGRATION are fully realized through

effective implementation of the initiative for ASEAN INTEGRATION and other sub
regional frameworks.
F. NOTING- With satisfaction that progress made so far under the series action plans
or progress towards the realization of the ASEAN vision 2020 for example , the
Hanoi plan of action (HPA) The initiative for ASEAN INTEGRATION (IAL) and the
Vientiane Action Programmed (VAP
G. COGNISANT- That the rapidly changing globalized world continues to present
both opportunities and challenge to which ASEAN must proactively utilize and
respond.
