Possessive Pronouns
Possessive pronouns are used in English to avoid
repeating information.
Example:
This pencil is my pencil, not your pencil.
(Sounds repetitive)
This pencil is mine, not yours.
(Mine and yours are possessive pronouns)

Possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns


sometimes are confusing because most of them are
very similar in form.

Describes a

Examples:
My house is big (MY is an adjective, describes the house )
Yours is small (YOURS is a pronoun, takes the place of noun
house)
