GENERAL GUIDELINES
SUBJECT:
English Teaching Practice II

PART I
Practice Start-up:
Practice Finish Date:

Monday, September 12th, 2016


Final exam (includes checking tests, homework, etc.)

Stage 1: Observation: 2 weeks observing classes (it includes note-taking, assist the
teacher, among other
activities delegated by the teacher)
Stage 2: Performance:
When the observation stage is finished, the practitioner is
ready to be assigned with
various activities that belong to the class each day. For example: warmups, wrap-ups,
exercises, etc. This is the stage in which students must be programmed
with, at least, one
class per term, and it will last until the last exam applied by the
teacher.
Stage 3: Evaluation: The teacher in charge of the subject assigned to the
practitioners will assess them in
the following ways:
1. Progressively. The teacher will be provided with an instrument for
the entire
process.
2. Performance. The teacher will be provided with an instrument to
evaluate the practitioners performance and abilities when teaching.
3. Formative. The teacher will be provided with an instrument to
evaluate the practitioners general behavior and attitude.
Documents to hand in to the teacher:
Attendance list: every class.
Progressive Assessment of Teaching Practice-Rubric: first day.
Performance and Formative-Rubrics: each of the two classes to be
performed by the practitioner.
Lesson plans: each of the two classes to be performed by the
practitioners.

Dress code:
The practitioner must be wearing the Teaching Practice-shirt with logo
made for this purpose.

Men have to wear a tie when performing the classes to be evaluated.


Formal

Women can wear whether a skirt or pants, but formal.
No jeans. Hair very well combed.

Attachments:
o Attendance List: include it at the end.
o Evidence of the activities and material used in the classes. (they can be
photos, documents, or other you think convenient)
o Video-summary of the activities and classes performed (send the link
through Penzu)*

Responsibilities:
1. Keep in mind our Code: Responsibility.
2. Be punctual.
3. Attend every class, including those make-up classes.
4. Dress according to the Dress Code.
5. Be attentive to assist the teacher in everything s/he may ask you for.
6. Check homework.
7. Take the attendance.
8. Check tests, if the teacher assigns it to you.
9. Be willing to assist the teacher out the schedule.
10.Be creative.
11.Apply what you have learned.
12.Update your e-portfolio frequently.
13.Other responsibilities designated by the teacher of the subject assigned to
your practice, or the professor of Teaching Practice II.

2nd Term:
Lab 1: Activity Logs and Teaching Diary
Lab 2: Self-evaluation quiz online (Virtual Platform)
2nd Term Test: Performance and Formative Rubric of your 1 st class
taught.

class taught.
SOME INSTRUMENTS EXPLANATION
Teaching Diary:
You will be given a format to follow in order to record everything from the analysis of
each class observed. And, you must be uploading this analysis the same day at
night or the next day the later, to your e-portfolio.
The analysis will be based on the guidelines in the format.

Activity Log:
You will be given a format to record the activities or techniques, which you think, are
highly effective, or the ones you need to have evidence of. That has to be at least one
activity per class observed.
Video-summary:

Try to video-record some important moments of the classes (from the observation

class, and your teaching performance, activities, giving instructions, etc.)


Prepare a video-summary including only those moments you consider important

which can be used as evidence of your Teaching Practice II.


Upload the video to any drive up in the cloud: OneDrive, Google Drive, Mega,

Dropbox, among others.

Include the link for the video in the portfolio.
This will be done at the end of the process.
