A number of problems in differing time demand will be assigned. Due dates will be announced at the time of
assignment. For any work submitted within one week after the due date, 20% will be deducted from the mark for
that assignment. No work will be accepted after the one-week grace period. Reading assignments (scientific
papers and reports) will also be given. Homework and reading assignments will take a considerable amount of
time. Students are expected to devote at least 10 hours per week for this course.
