Ms. Miller had made each student a bead bracelet with 10 beads. This was a very good idea when
working with subtraction.
Ms. Miler modeled how the bead bracelet would be used with the lesson.
As the students worked the problems they could use the bead bracelet for support. This proved to be
very beneficial to the students.
The students really respond well to Ms. Miller. Her warm smile is very reassuring to the students. First
grade is such a learning time and lots of repeat teaching takes place. Ms. Miller was always there for
support when a student had a question or needed help.
Ms. Miller has good classroom control and the students respond to her when she needs their attention.
This was a very enjoyable visit.
