Chapter 1: Introduction

1.1.

Background of the Report

This Report is made to communicate information which has been compiled as a result of
research and analysis of data and of issues. This Report can cover a wide range of topics, but
usually focus on transmitting information with a clear purpose, to a specific audience, that is,
summary of the contents such as Human Resource activities of Company, Mission, Vision, Goal,
Strategic Objectives of Company, Organizational Structure Human Resources Division, The
major responsibilities of HR), introduction or background, methods, results, discussion,
conclusion and/or recommendations. The inclusion of recommendations and getting sufficient
knowledge is the one reason why this report is made, as the informed recommendations are
useful for decision making.

Our First and foremost objective is try to present my all data after compilation in an

understandable and in direct way.


To present the actual solution to solve a business problem
Our objective of writing of the report is to find out the major issues and problems and

then after compilation, try to find out the solutions in a meaning full way.

We are writing this report is to describe and have complete knowledge, information about

the organization ongoing process.

We want to know about all the activities and procedures took place in HR department

Scopes of the Report


The scope and style of reports varies widely. It depends on three key factors: the report's
intended audience, the report's purpose and the type of information to be communicated.

In this Report the intended Audience is my Supervisor and my Class mates, and as I
mentioned above my basic purpose of writing this report is to Presenting the data and
information in an understandable and direct manner , present the actual solution to solve
a business problem ,Describing all the process and steps undergoes in an Organization,
Understanding the undergoing procedures of HR in a Large scale Organization, To get
Knowledge and Information about Companys HR activities ,To serve , to communicate
the Business Concept, business management model, commercial objectives, operational
procedures and the perceived viability of the enterprise, and seek knowledge about
Organizations HR activities.

2.1. Overview of Company

trying to reinvent the traditions to build a chic, cutting-edge style & blooming colors which will

To provide quality products to customers and explore new markets to promote/expand sales
of the Company through good governance and foster a sound and dynamic team, so as to

achieve optimum prices of products of the Company for sustainable and equitable growth and
prosperity of the Company

To transform the Company into a modern and dynamic yarn, cloth and processed cloth and
finished product manufacturing Company that is fully equipped to play a meaningful role on

2.8. Organizational Structure


An organizational structure defines how activities such as task allocation, coordination and
supervision are directed toward the achievement of organizational aims. It can also be considered
as the viewing glass or perspective through which individuals see their organization and its
environment. Organizations are a variant of clustered entities

An organization can be structured in many different ways, depending on its objectives. The
structure of an organization will determine the modes in which it operates and performs.
Five Star Textile is a comprehensive mill which manufactures suiting from yarn to finished
products. In order to achieve and maintain high quality control and to retain strict focus on
specialization, the production units have been decentralized into the following units:

The wet processing unit is equipped with a wide range of state of the art machines which gives
Five Star Textile a flexible processing possibility and an edge over its competitors. Five Star
Textile (Pvt) Ltd has its sophisticated rotary printing machine Capable of printing up to 21 colors
on fabrics as wide as 320 cm.

In the finishing section, modern stenters are fitted with the most sophisticated electronic weft
straightness which achieves perfect finishes. Final touch to the fabrics is given on different
calendars according to the requirements of the buyers.

Design & Creation


Five Star Textile design studio are highly trained staffed with experienced artists with
capabilities to meet the most stringent requirements in design and to adapt to different color ways
to meet the requirements of each individual country.

Quality Control
Five Star Textile maintains strict quality control and possesses computerized testing for strength,
density of cloth and fastness of colors. We also have a fully equipped lab. The quality control
personnel conduct pre-inspection of goods at different stages to maintain international standards
and to ensure customer satisfaction on a regular basis.

2.9. Human Resources Division


The Human Resources (HR) Division within the Academy of Management is dedicated to a
better understanding of how work organizations can perform more effectively by better
management of their human resources.
The management of Five Star (the Company) believes that employees are assets of the
Company and have been instrumental in driving the Companys performance year on year. Their
passion, commitment, sense of ownership and team work has enabled the Company to maintain
its leadership position in the challenging market scenario. The Company has always striven to
offer a positive, supportive, open and high performance work culture where innovation and risk
taking is encouraged, performance is recognized and employees are motivated to realize their
true potential.

2.10. The major HR Responsibilities


An efficiently run human resources department can provide the organization with structure and
the ability to meet business needs through managing the company's most valuable resources -- its
employees. There are several HR disciplines, or areas, but HR practitioners in each discipline
may perform more than one of the more than six essential functions.

2.11. Structure of HR Department


The department of HRM is called the personnel department. There are only 5 personnel who
actually handle the departments affairs and about 1500 employees are working. There is great
work that is to be done by 5 persons but they feel burden on themselves.

In Five Star it is started by a personal addition/deletion request by HOD of Concern Department,
Job description should be prepared, then Job analysis perform to justify the addition/deletion of
an employee
Recruitment Process
Five Star Textile believe in hiring and retaining capable, qualified and potentially useful
employees who are willing to contribute their best to accomplish the objectives of the Company.
Appointments of jobs in the permanent cadre are made by promotions or through direct
recruitment by the concerned appointing authority through the HR department, by means of
external recruitment or reference.
Selection Process
In Five star, Interview is conducted, keeping in mind the background and having positive
reference of the candidate, by matching with the job description.

Employees development and capability building across functions and levels remained a key
focus area to build a strong talent pipeline. The Five Star is committed to invest in enhancing its
human capital through building technical skills and competencies of its employees. With the use
of performance management processes, the Five Star aims to ensure that all employees know

Companys career planning and development process
A succession plan is a component of good HR planning and management. Succession planning
acknowledges that the staff will not be with an organization indefinitely and it provides a plan
and process for addressing the changes that will occur when they leave. Keeping in view the
need and importance of succession planning, the Five Star has formulated a comprehensive
succession plan by focusing on all the key positions within the Company. The key positions
can be defined as those positions that are crucial for the operations of the organization and which
are hard to be replaced because of skill, seniority and / or experience requirements.
