Muhammad The final

Prophet of Islam.
Muhammad; a young orphan who by the
age of 6 had lost both parents. Before birth,
the father of Muhammad has passed away,
leaving the mother of the Prophet to take
care of him. At the age of 6, Muhammads
mother also passed away, leaving Muhammad.
His orphan life meant that he had to grow up very quickly ensuring
he was able to take care of himself. Working and earning a living at
this age was a struggle, but Muhammad being the young
hardworking child he was began to take care of animals and trade.
He soon began to develop many characteristics such as
determination, honesty and discipline. Unlike other children,
Muhammad saw the blessings within everything that took place
around him. He was fully immersed in being a devoted, loving and
trustworthy individual. By the age of 40, Muhammad had achieved a
considerable amount and was now known as a wealthy businessman
marrying a lady named Khadijah.
This was all a plan from Allah, as Muhammads role was going to
change. His honesty and humbleness invited the message from God
that would not be changed or corrupted. His task was now to
convert the people of Makkah and beyond to the ways of One God
and the basic structures for a religion.
This conversion was not straight forward for Muhammad. He was
forced to leave places due to his message not being widely
accepted, resulting in his life being under threat. However, as time
passed, Muhammad became a spiritual and political leader
conveying the message of the One God. Here the first Islamic
community was set up with some of the very first Muslims.
Many questioned why he was conveying and spreading this new
message and the reason was evident. People were behaving in
immoral ways, they cheated people out of money, gambling was an
everyday thing, prostitution was a norm and idol worshipping was
sky high.
In order to get away from this, Muhammad began to spend a lot of
his time away from the city and its people. He would go to a cave
named Hira to gain peace of mind and the right path to follow. This

is also the place where Muhammad received his revelation, as the

Angel Jibril came to the Prophet and commanded him to recite,
however, he could not recite as he could not read. Following on, the
Angel Jibril squeezed Muhammad three times upon which he recited
the words of God. Trembling from what had occurred, Muhammad
left the cave and returned to Khadija. She comforted him and
reassured him that this must be a message from God.
Khadija and her Christian cousin became the first believers of Islam.
Allah commanded him to preach to his family and friends to allow
the message to spread. Three years passed and Muhammad
continued to spend time in spiritual meditation. The revelations from
Allah continued and Muhammad continue to spread the message of
Allah.
Why was it important for Muhammad to receive prophet hood when
he did?
1. It was all Allahs plan for it to happen then.
2. People were becoming more distant from the ways of Allah,
earlier messages from previous prophets were being ignored
and Makkah was becoming the centre of idol worshipping as it
began to grow as a trade centre.
3. Previous holy books such as the Bible and the Torah had been
lost or changed.
4. The religion now needed structure in its organisation in the
same way that both Christianity and Judaism had.
5. Muhammad was a well-known role model and people trusted
him. He stood up when the truth was lost and was gracious to
those who tried to harm or prosecute him. He always remained
loving and compassionate and taught equality.
