Albay is categorized under Type II climate set by the Philippine
Atmospheric Geophysical and Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical
Services Administration (PAG-ASA). Type II climate is known as a no dry season
with a very pronounced rainfall from November to April and wet during the rest of
the year. The period of maximum rainfall in the municipality begins from
November to January.
During the last quarter of the year, typhoons are also frequent.
Philippine has an average of nineteen typhoon entry per year. The orientation of
the proposal design development may be influenced by the frequent occurrence
of typhoons. The rainiest period is the last quarter of the year with December as
the month with the highest record of average rainfall. Since the region is located
in the eastern part of the archipelago oriented to the Pacific Ocean where most
typhoons commence, it is one of the prone areas which bear with the effects.

Sun Orientation
The hottest months in the region are summer months, April to June, where it
meets the intense light of the sun. May is the warmest month while January is the
coolest. In months of May and June, the sun will be in the lowest and nearest
distance to earth. From late morning to early afternoon hottest hour will occur.
Maximum heat will come from east to west direction of sun path.
The site is oriented to the direct heat and light of sun however it is planted
with trees especially on the Northern side which make good shades under the
sunlight.
