Objectives:
to showcase the students ability to perform the practical applications of science
to give proper recognition to students who excel in the field of physics
to promote the schools course offerings and facilities.
Brief Summary of the Event:
Last November 12, 2014, the program was started by an opening remarks rendered by Engr.
Rommel Galvan, MaPD Faculty member.
The program was divided into two rounds, the elimination and the final rounds. At exactly 12:00 nn,
the elimination round was held at the Casal Seminar Room and two Physics Laboratory Rooms located at
Casal Campus as first part of the program. Thirty-five (35) schools composed of five (5) students
represented their respective schools. The elimination round was done in a written format consisting of 25item multiple choice questions which cover topics in high school physics. The challengers then proceeded
to the PE Center for the announcement of the 10 participating schools who made it to the final round.
At 1:30 oclock in the afternoon, the second part of the program officially started. The final round
was in the form of bidding and series of challenges.
The program ended at exactly 5pm by the awarding of the certificates, medals, cash prize and
scolarship to the winning teams, the Valenzuela Mathematics and Science High School being the third
placer, Rizal High School being the second placer, and the Elizabeth Seton High School being the
Champion for the TIPs 9th Anual Olymphysics Challenge.
