The Market:
Underground Vault monitoring technologies have been developed and gradually refined in the
last few decades. The most important ones are the powerful chip-based sensor systems that can
analyze and turn large amount of data into useful information to help us know the state of the
vault. Companies are designing monitor systems with wireless gas (CO2, CH4, etc.) sensors,
temperature sensors, humidity sensors, level sensors and pH sensors.
The Marketing Environment:
1. Competitive forces- The marketing competition in the Vault Monitoring industry is strong
locally and globally. Most companies are using nano/bio technology sensors to improve
the quality of the monitoring activity. In order to compete with the market, our vault
monitoring sensor must have the latest sensor technology while maintaining a reasonable
purchase cost.
2. Target Market- We will be working closely with leaders in the government, electrical and
telecommunications industry, chemical industry companies, universities, and any
business that is in need of an underground monitoring system. These businesses are all
seeking to improve the state of their vaults and with our Vault-Eye design their problems
will be solved.

Strengths
A Vault-Eye system sets out to give you
a valuable asset in monitoring the
properties of the environment within
your vault, thus preventing mishaps
before they occur and only utilizing
manpower to respond to actul
emergencies. Therefore, it will reduce
maintenance labor hours/ cost on just
inspections alone.

Opportunities
In the future, the creation of a website
to sell the Vault-Eye will give our
company the opportunity to be
recognize worldwide. The Vault-Eye
would be the priority of many
companies for utility vault monitoring.

SWOT

Weakness
The case of the Vault-Eye was made
for our prototype using a 3D-printer.
Therefore, the total cost was slightly
high. However, in the future the cost
will be lower since the case of the
Vault-Eye will be purchase for a lower
price.

Threats
The Vault-Eye has been succesfully
tested at a utility vault at Illinois
Institute of Technology in Chicago,
Illinois. However, it hasn't been tested
in other cities utility vaults which have
higher risk of faliure.
