World War II Timeline Project

Use the provided links to create 7 separate timelines of 40 total events

throughout World War II, this should average to 5 events per year
(1939-1945).
For each event put on the years timeline, include the exact dates and
a description of the event.
At the end of each year, summarize the events of the war up to that
point, and whether the Allies or Axis forces seem to have momentum.
You should have 7 separate timelines, each timeline with 5 events and
an overall summary of that year.

1. Feb 22- U.S. President F.D.R. orders General MacArthur to evacuate
the Philippines. MacArthur will promise that he shall return to
liberate the island nation.
2. Sep 3- The Battle of Stalingrad starts, which will prove to be one of
the bloodiest battles in the war and an impactful loss to the
Germans later in the war.
3. Dec 4- The U.S. starts to bomb mainland Italy for the first time,
softening the country for a future attack.
4. Dec 12- German General Erwin Rommel retreats to Tripoli and is
trapped in Tunisia.
5. Dec 22- The last of U.S. troops land in North Africa prepping for the
invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky)
1942-This is an important year and can be seen as a shift in
momentum for the Allies, but much is left to do for them to get the
upper hand. The successful allied push from North Africa to the

Mediterranean and prep for Italy is a move in the right directing for the
Allies.
