FIDE Trainers Commission (TRG)

Date: 22.12.2012
Attention: FIDE Affiliated Federations
Subject: Trainers Titles Licence Fees
Dear Mr. President,
As you already have noticed, the FIDE Trainers Commission is trying to create an
acceptable and trustworthy training system worldwide, based on continual and effective
education. Back in 2004 FIDE Trainers Titles were introduced and today (2004-2012)
there are more than 1.900 FIDE official and certified titled trainers all over the world.
In the recent past FIDE tried to introduce the licence system which was focused on recertificating FIDE trainers. A first attempt at the start of 2008 did not operate ideally
and the concept was temporarily put on hold (although some trainers did co-operate).
In the start of the year 2010 the FIDE Trainers Commission (TRG) came up with a
detailed guide and designed a proper plan to support the FIDE trainers titles and licence
system. This guide/system was introduced and approved in the 2010, 2011 and 2012
FIDE Presidential Boards and FIDE Congresses.
Following the approval of the FIDE Trainers System Guide; in the end of 2010 we
prepared the list of payments for the licence fees for the awarded TRG titles. The record
period for which this pay-list applied, was from 2004 to 2009 (Direct Approvals and TRG
Seminars). Now the third instalment concerning the awarded titles of the year 2011 has
been prepared.
The title licence will be valid
01.01.2013-31.12.2016 (after
payment). It should be paid by
28.02.2013, to the FIDE
Trainers
Bank
Account
(payment should be net of all
bank charges):

The described financial obligation can be paid by the affiliated federation in total or
individually by the FIDE trainer. In any case, after the bank deposit, an e-mail should be
sent to accounts@fide.com, indicating the depositors full name and the transaction
number. It must be clear that by failing to fulfil this financial obligation the trainer will
be suspended automatically from the official FIDE trainers list.
Please note that we will need a portrait photo (see sample below) to be sent by e-mail
(with the FIDE-ID on the title) in order to issue the trainers new badge
(grivasefs@yahoo.co.uk). All new badges will be sent to the affiliated federation, after the
completion of payment. There will be a charge of 15 euros to issue a duplicate if the
original is lost.

In addition to the above mentioned badge, the certified and licenced trainer will also
receive around March/April 2013 two new FIDE/TRG publications:
Trivial Endings - Revealing the Secrets (2013 - 128 pages)
FIDE TRG Yearbook 2012 (2013 - 208 pages)
Finally, TRG is kindly asking for a person to be nominated by your federation as the
Official Contact Trainer (if you have done so, please ignore this reminder) with the
TRG. By this action, TRGs communication and further cooperation with the federations
will become easier and more effective. For this purpose the attached form (Contact
Official) should be completed and returned to TRG Secretary, Efstratios Grivas
(grivasefs@yahoo.co.uk).
