Presently over 90,000 engineers are working in the Government including public
sector organizations and autonomous/ semi-autonomous bodies, as such the engineers of
the country have a direct bearing on all the aspects of service structure of Pakistan both at
Federal and Provincial levels.

It is unfortunate that engineers of Pakistan have no Service Group and no service


structure despite the fact that they are responsible for execution of development plans,
maintenance of all essential services and to boosting of the economy of the country. PEC is
working to formulate/ finalize a comprehensive service structure for engineers working in the
Federal and Provincial Governments including under controlled departments and

corporations. To collect the realistic data of qualified engineers it will be appreciated to
