FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

FUYAO RESPONSE TO DAYTON DAILY NEWS ARTICLE, Fuyao fined $227K for
unsafe working conditions
Dayton, Ohio, Nov. 10, 2016 -- Fuyao remains committed to total employee health and
safety. Since beginning operations, Fuyao has spent over three million dollars on
protective equipment, training, machine guarding, and other safety equipment.
Thousands of staff-hours have been spent on safety training and industrial hygiene
efforts. Our team of nurses and safety technicians work around the clock to ensure the
safety and health of our workforce.
Additionally, Fuyao continues to work shoulder-to-shoulder with OSHA on improving our
1.8 million square foot facility as we complete construction and ramp up production.
Nevertheless, as part of ongoing inspections over the past months, OSHA has cited
Fuyao for various alleged violations. The most recent set of citations, issued October 31,
was expected. Fuyao believes that many of the citations describe conditions which do not
violate OSHA standards. We will continue aggressively moving forward with our
corrective actions as we have since starting operations.
Fuyao is disappointed by the inaccurate portrayal of its operations by OSHAs
representatives in the November 10, 2016 Dayton Daily News article. Indeed, neither of
the representatives quoted have seen our facility in operation. While we have challenged
the citations and proposed fines, we look forward to continuing to work with OSHA as well
as on other safety initiatives in our facility.
