Is my material appropriate to my piece of work?

Alex: Plasticine was good because it is a malleable material,

therefore it could be manipulated into what you want;
something that is not possible with other materials. This meant
that the actions in the stop motion were smoother and more
realistic. You could create what you want, and choreograph its
movements to perfection. However, Lego could have worked
just as well due to the construction theme in the song. Being a
collection of bricks, the house scene could have been
developed and built with precision and expertise.
Cary: Cary enjoyed my production as it was a creative music
video in the form of plasticine. He felt that plasticine was a
good choice and was suitable for my production as it was an
abstract piece of work that required scenes that werent
feasible in the bounds of human models/characters. The
plasticine made the piece more immersive, Whiteboard
drawings would also have worked as you have unrestricted
creative bounds and it would be more efficient but you would
be restricted to a two dimensional production which is a
negative. The orange of the fire was particularly well done, it
had a realistic flicker and a contemporary style that reflected its
true values.

Did the production look professional?

Alex: It looked moderately professional however the lighting
was a key flaw in the piece of work. In repeated instances,
shadows could be seen clearly in the work, reducing enjoyment
and immersion in the film. In addition to this, strobing was
constant; if the lighting was fully controlled and the camera
settings were adjusted, this could be avoided in future
productions. Other flaws to the professionalism of the
production include blurred shots, which can be corrected by
slowing down the rate of photos taken, thus taking more care
into the work. Also there were some shots with fingers in it,
these can be avoided in the future by using masking
techniques.

Cary: The orange of the fire was particularly well done, it had a
realistic flicker and a contemporary style that reflected its true
values. The lighting was okay but in some scenes there were
shadows and some strobing, which should be avoided in the
future. Nevertheless, a suitable atmosphere was formed, the
production was depicted as a dark story about love.
