2)Describe the
purpose
Of carbs.

What are carbohydrates?

Carbs are a main source of energy for all living things. It
provides short term and long term energy.
Examples of short term energy:
Monosaccharides- These are made up of simple sugars and carbs
like candy and fruits. Your body uses these carbs way faster.
Examples of long term energy:
Polysaccharides- These are made up of complex sugars and carbs
which takes more time for your body to break down. Bread and
grains are an example.

3)Explain how
carbs
Can impact our
bodies
Negatively.

Carbs can provide a lot of energy for us, but too much
carbohydrates will lead to insulin resistance. This means our bodies
have consumed too many carbs which causes a lot of sugar in the
blood. Diseases that are caused by overconsumption of
carbohydrates are diabetes, high blood sugar, and other problems
that affect the heart.

4)Evaluate why it is
Important to know
About
macromolecules.
How can this info
be
Beneficial for our
Lives in the future?

It is important to know about macromolecules because they inform

humans about the healthy choices and whats good and bad for
our bodies. As we get older, we learn more about the different
types of food. Carbohydrates, for example, are a good source of
energy, but too much can lead to bad diseases. Lipids are another
example of a macromolecule that talked about fat. Of course all
humans need fat in their bodies, but too much fat can lead to high
cholesterol which results in the clotting of blood. The difference
between saturated and unsaturated polymers is that saturated is
solid at temperature so this is bad. An example is avocadoes,
which arent overall bad, but the lipids part is bad for our bodies.
There are other macromolecules and this information helps the
audience choose the right diet choices to be healthy.

Summary: Macromolecules affect our bodies in many ways. Some types of macromolecules
are carbohydrates and lipids. Everyone needs these in their bodies, but too much can be

very harmful. Carbs

Are used in our body for energy. It comes from foods such as; fruits, candy, bread, and
grains. Overconsumption of carbohydrates can lead to insulin resistance, which will
cause high blood pressure,
Diabetes, etc. Lipids are the fats in our bodies. It can be used to cushion, insulation, and
long-term energy. Too much fat can lead to high cholesterol. This results in blood clots.
These two macromolecules are necessary for survival, but too much will hurt our bodies
more than help.
