Controls:
1. The Remote and Centralized control panels shall be
fabricated from a plastic material with a neutral
color. Each control panel must have a LCD (Liquid
Crystal Display) that shows room temperature, set
point, mode of operation (on/off/cool/heat) and fan
speed.

Centralized Controller:
The Centralized controller

equipment and installed in the location as shown on
the Drawings. This unit shall have five basic
controls; start/stop, switch operation mode, set air
flow
speed,
set
air
flow
direction,
and

temperature. The operation settings shall not only be
performed individually for groups, they shall also be
performed for all groups in a batch. The system shall
allow disabling of remote control operation for each
of the five basic controls. Times for inactivating
remote control on the schedule screen shall also be
set. This function shall prevent excessive cooling
over summer and shall allow for low energy operation
etc. Inactivation shall be set in the schedule and
shall be for a batch of operations that includes
start/stop, switch operation mode, set temperature and
filter reset. The system shall allow for a week
schedule created by compiling start and stop times. An
OFF time shall be set to turn off the air conditioning
when setback is extended because of overtime work. The
schedule shall allow 3 patterns for each group to meet
different weekday requirements. The operation state of
indoor units shall be monitored from the centralized
controllers screen. When an error occurs, the
location and detail of the error shall be called up
from the log of past errors.

MC 307.2.3.1 water-level monitoring devices: On downflow units and all other coils that do not have a
secondary drain or provisions to install a secondary
or auxiliary drain pan, a water-level monitoring
device shall be installed by the Mechanical Contractor
or Temperature Controls Contractor inside the primary
drain pan. This device shall shut off the equipment

Defrost cycle
1. Defrost shall be initiated every 90 minutes. The cycle
shall begin when the defrost timer motor contacts
close for 20 seconds, and if the defrost thermostat is
closed, the reversing valve and outdoor air fans shall
be de-energized. The unit shall operate in this
modified cooling mode to defrost the coil. This
defrost cycle shall continue until the defrost
thermostat opens or 10 minutes have elapsed.
2. When the unit is in the defrost cycle, the first step of
electric resistance heat shall be energized to prevent
cold air recirculation during this modified cooling
mode. Second and third steps of electric heat shall be
energized only if their outdoor air thermostat is
closed.
