Part 2: temperature control system

1.0 Abstract
Temperature control system is basically a process of system that changes temperature of a
space and objects collectively there within is measured or detected then the passage of the
heat energy into or out of the space is adjusted to achieve a desired average temperature.
2.0 objective and scope
the objectives and scopes for this experiment are firstly is to observe and explain the
operation of open-loop and closed-loop temperature control system and secondly is to
analyze the performance characteristic of the open-loop and closed-loop temperature control
system.
3.0 experiment/project background
this is the part 2 of the experiment of control system which is temperature control system.
Since this experiment has relation with the temperature therefore the experiment was
equipped with
Lab-Volt Process Control Trainer model 3521. This is because the trainer contains the
temperature of a radiator which uses heater and a fan to warm up and cool down the radiator
respectively.
Since this experiment is about how the temperature control system operates automatically the
radiator has become one of the most important operating components in this experiment.
Therefore, the radiator is responsible for keeping the automobiles engine at a safe operating
temperature however a malfunctioning automotive radiator could mean a big trouble. For
example, the radiator can often develop cause by small particles of dirt and rust clogging up
the essential elements which will prevent the car radiator from being able to cool down the
engine properly. Lastly, the vehicle will overheat and can potentially causing a break down
and users need to do regular routine maintenance and service in order to avoid such problem.
The experiments were conducted to test the two configurations mentioned by using the LabVolt Process Control Trainer model 3521. The relationship between the temperature of the
radiator and time, and also the systems performance was observed.
