WRITING ASSIGNMENT PRODUCTION

RELIGIONS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON HUMANITY

Religions have been the biggest dispute of humanity, since the beginning of history
man feels that they have been product of divine power and also there is a purpose
in their existence; therefore, they seek to explain their origins through inexplicable
events that have happened over time, manifestations of spiritual beings that bring a
message from Creator God. In the last centuries, the religion has been called "the
opium of the people," "a yoke for the human mind", "a method of oppression", "a
chimera is about todisappear" (Magario Sergio, S. F.)
It is at this point where religious divisions arise because they show different
features of a God or Gods unrelated to each other. This goes hand in hand with the
various customs and practices of each territory. This is seen, for example, the way
Catholics worship to God in Latin America that is different from the way it is
worshiped in the Middle East, despite being of the same religion.
The major world religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam among others,
seeking to expand their beliefs to the man, but what it has caused is that man has
many conflicts in pursuit of defending the ideal of each religion and not the
objective of understand the purpose of man and therefore will continue to exist
various divisions and different religious beliefs
By Alejandro Yanes

Religion is in the world since time immemorial. It has been present in the life of
man, makes him feel part of a group that shares their beliefs, rituals and customs.

Its proponents argue that it can learn about good and evil, which is an instrument
for social stability and provides answers to the momentous questions of humanity,
but the truth is that:

- The religious struggles have been the reason for many wars and therefore the
cause of millions of deaths and injuries.
- That its possible to feel emotions such as empathy, sympathy and love without a
religious point of view.
- That the tithes and other religious donations would be better spent directly in
helping the poor, the hungry and the sick.
- The blind faith leads people, even the most intelligent people, to deny
fundamental principles of science as the theory of evolution.
- They have delayed the progress of mankind because religion is based on the
mystification of the unknown. Therefore, any adverse outcomes of scientific
progress, because it tends to throw reason and logic of events that has been
awarded to the divine.
Thus, science has arrived to the mystical religion and superstition, and answered,
and responds with intolerance and radicalism forever. Religions have forbidden
advances such as transplants and transfusions. Even today they are contrary, for
example, research on stem cells.

By Soralis Durn

From my perspective, this is a very complicated matter. All of us well know that
religions have caused a lot of pain and sorrows around the world in the past, and it
continues to do so now, because of the different beliefs within the nations or
religions group. Therefore, I could agree with those people that do not want to
know about any kind of religions. Even those who think that God does not exist, but
it is an excuse for some people to get power or dominion over others and in some
cases become rich, taking advantages of their followers faithfulness. On the other
hand, I could also agree with those people that think that God is a fundamental
belief in our lives and that the evolutions theory is each day more ambiguous.
Some scientific have concluded that the human being can not only exist because
of the effect of causality but because there is a natural power or being that govern
the universe. It is because of the consciousness of a God that many people
restraints to do evil things. Accordingly, then to the previously stated both group
could be right.

In my personal experience, I would like to share with my history. I was born in

Colombia, which is a country mostly Catholic, so I grew up in a Catholic
environment, I mean Catholic schools, catechesis courses, attending the church
every Sunday and accomplishing Catholics events as first communion, confession,
and others. Time passed, and I was curious about what the Bibles says, so I began
to read the Bible, and I realized about many things that did not match for me
between the Bible and the Catholic beliefs, that is why I become a Protestant. For
my family and me, God is our center, and I cannot image our life without my GOD.

As a conclusion, I think that the human being always will have an excuse to do
what they want to do. Religions have only been a way to fulfill their interest or
purpose.

"Religious conviction often provides the sole compelling reason for refusing to kill
or for seeking peace the truth is that religion and irreligion are cultural
variables, but killing is a human constant". (David Hart)

By Luis Felipe Rizzo

Although many have taken religion to harm humanity, this does not mean that for
man religion represents a way to shape their behavior towards the trend of seeking
peace and harmony with others. Man is religious by nature, because nature is not
only physical but spiritual, and is, in that spiritual nature that constantly seeks to
satisfy that need immaterial that represents a supernatural being as God. It is also
worth noting that in the desire of man to seek to meet these needs, it was wrong,
arbitrarily taking religion to offend and thus break the bonds of brotherhood that
must always exist between humans.
Human beings in their quest for personal fulfillment and inner peace opts to choose
the path of faith as a sure way to feel good about yourself, others and especially
with that supernatural being, which is a good father who wants the best for his
people, so the religious aspect is intrinsic to human nature, moral, ethical and its
general social and cultural aspects of life. I personally believe that all that exists is
not the product of chance as often science raises rather think that everything is the
product of a thought, a very organized plan, and that behind all this fascinating plan
is a very brilliant mind GOD
By Juio Cesar Jinete
Religions are part of the culture of the human being, and represents a great pillar
within the society, because it is the point of identification of ideals that have been
developed, is considered as something transcendental in the life of each individual,

because it is not due To leave aside the importance that it acquires in the formation
of each person.
It is presented as a bond of union between the divine and the earthly, it is a means
by which faith is practiced that professes and allows personal and integral growth,
leading you to a full and happy life.
Religions are based on the human being's need to believe in a God who makes
him feel spiritually at peace with himself and with others, each presenting his own
moral, social, ethical, epistemological beliefs that allow the individual to develop in
That religious environment to which it belongs.
Every religion has its ideology, the human being is autonomous to belong to the
one that chooses because it is totally free to integrate.
Religion is a reality that can not be denied, because its existence and origins goes
back centuries in hundreds of first civilizations; For its universality and evolution
throughout times and cultures.

I agree with you, when you affirm that religion
teaches about good and evil. I like how you
