THE WAVERLEY WAY 2017

A Waverley Victory player is;


- Technically sound; able to control, pass and run with the ball under pressure with both feet.
- Tactically aware; able to make correct decisions about where/when to run, pass or finish.
- Of good character; determined to improve, caring of teammates and respectful of coaches, opponents
and match officials.

A Waverley Victory team is;


- Always Improving; Focused on development and performance, not results.
- Attacking; First priority is to score more than the opponent, not prioritize preventing opposition creating
goal scoring chances.
- Structured; All players have the necessary information to perform their roles to the best of their ability.

Waverley Victory team structures;


- Under 7s; 4 players in a diamond formation
- Under 8s - 9s; 7 players in a 1-2-3-1 formation
- Under 10s - 11s; 9 players in a 1-3-2-3 formation
- Under 12s - 16s; 11 players in a 1-4-3-3 formation

2017 Curriculum Structure


In 2017, the Waverley Victory Technical Directors will be writing the curriculum that goes along with The
Waverley Way. Coaches will be educated and assisted in delivering the session plans. The curriculum
includes;
- Playing through the thirds and Fast Break Attack
- Creating goal chances through combination play
- Creating goal chances through wide areas
- Group Defending
- Transitioning
