Writing Reflection
Legalize Cannabis Reflection
There are different attributes of good writing, some attributes of good writing are good
word choice, sentence variety, and that your writing makes sense. I have used all of these
attributes in my writing. I used transition words like, First, second, third, and in conclusion,
(Tatum) to introduce my paragraphs. I also used transition words all throughout the essay. I used
descriptive words like, ancient and annual, (Tatum, 1) and I used powerful words like,
believe, claim, and suggest. (Tatum, 1, 2) I also used sentence variety in my essay. I had
complex sentences with introductory clauses, relative pronoun clauses, appositive clauses, and a
parenthetical clause. I even had a sentence with a coordinating conjunction. Marijuana has
many medical benefits; and you cannot die from overdose of it. (Tatum, 2) If you read my essay
out loud it also makes sense. In conclusion, some attributes of good writing are good word
choice, sentence variety, and making sense.
Readers, who are reading a well written composition, have certain expectations. They
expect that the composition will have proper grammar, fantastic word choice that keeps the
reader interested, and a good voice. My composition illustrates all three of these things. I would
say that the grammar is amazing. My piece of writing also has amazing word choice, with words
like, claim and ancient. (Tatum, 1, 2) My essay also has a pretty good human voice to it. In
conclusion, I would rate my essay outstanding on the three things that readers expect to be in a
well written composition; proper grammar, great word choice, and a good voice.

There are many features of academic effort and rigor; some of these are hard work,
dedication, and research. I put in so much effort to my piece of writing. I have spent many hours
all throughout the entire writing process on this piece. I first had to research the topic and find
credible resources. Then I wrote my first draft, which took a lot of work. After that I went
through an extensive editing process and had my polished copy. I would say my academic effort
and rigor was outstanding especially with all of the things that I was and currently am going
through in my life. In conclusion, hard work, dedication, and research are academic effort and
rigor. I did well in all of these categories.
My responses to this reflection were pretty good, in my opinion. I did all of these things
and I did them well. I faced some challenges in writing my essay; one of these was finding good
credible sources for my essay, because of the legality of it. My goals for my next piece of writing
are just to improve at least a little bit in every aspect of writing. My other goal is to not
procrastinate at all, and maybe even finish early.
