Analysis of Field Oriented Control (FOC) principle in three phase electrical

system. The analysis involved developing complex algorithms to separate out
the active and reactive components for various applications and is verified
with extensive software simulation. The project is conceived with the
technical expertise from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Based on
which the following projects are done.

Vector Control of Induction Machine. This involved mathematical

modeling of Induction Machine for FOC and developing algorithms for
the control and its implementation. The project sponsored by TDC of
DIT. Later the technology is transferred to M/s BHEL, Bangalore and
M/s Crompton Greaves, Mumbai.

As an improvement over Vector Control, Direct Torque Control method

is developed for Induction Machine. This algorithm is developed with C
language and real time implementation is done in assembly language.
Later on the software know how is transferred to BHEL Bangalore.

The algorithms are extended for the active and reactive power control
in UPS and grid connected systems.
