How to open a Corrupted Pen / Flash

/ USB drive
Flash drives or Pen drives gives you freedom to carry your data with you or transfer it to other
computers. These days, all personal computers and laptops come with USB port, making it
convenient to mobilize your data using Pen drives. However, a lot of pen drives get corrupted
because of various reasons.

In case you are also stuck with this problem of corrupted flash drives, you dontt need to visit
a computer hardware shop or a technician. You can fix the problem yourself. To make the
flash drive working again, you can either try to restore the data back or format it that actually
will erase the data.
Steps for Restoring:
Pen Drive

USB Flash

USB Drive Recover USB

Click on the Windows Start button.

Click on Computer or My Computer tab. It will show your Flash drive icon there.
Right click on your flash drive and choose Properties.
Click on Tools
On the new dialog box, under Error checking to fix your flash drive, Click Check Now
button.
Steps for Reformatting the Flash Drive
Click on the Start button.
Next, click on Computer or My Computer tab.
Right click on your flash drive and select Format.

Now click on Start at bottom of this dialog box.

Warning : If you choose to reformat your flash drive, it will erase the data.

I tried the above steps..the computer shows access denied..and before i did this, i
deleted all the shortcuts created by the virus..plz help..have lot of imp data in my
drive

i have a new 16 gb pendrive.. i am using this pendrive in windows 7 but first time i
am using my pendrive its working,, but again i ll do format but it ill be not formated,,
showing this error(windows unable to format ) ,,again i am trying to insert the usb
portal ,, but the pen drive was not opened,, and showing (insert disk error)

if i plug my PENDRIVE,the msg displayed as your has been succesfully installed.
But i open my PENDRIVE means the dialog displayed as INSERT THE DISK INTO
THE REMOVABLE DISK. if any one know the solution means send me the solution

REPLY FORMAT REMOVABLE DISK (G:) START CLOSE WHEN I START FOR
FORMAT A REPLY WARNING : FORMATING WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THIS
DISK. TO FORMAT THE DISK, CLICK OK, TO QUIT, CLICK CANCEL. -OK CANCEL
WHEN I CLICK OK. THE REPLY THE DISK IS WRITE PROTECTED. OK
WINDOWS CANT FORMAT G

disk is not read- only, and then try again. For more information, search help for

if data not required from u r pen drive, then try for 3rd party tools such are
rescue pendrive
etc.. 1) insert u r pen drive into other good working and antivirus complete
updated computer! this may give an solution to u r pen drive
2) go to service centre (u r pen drive manufacturer) inform the status ask for
tech help!

This helped me with a faulty icon for the Sandisk Ultra 32GB USB stick which I had
no choice but to eject with a warning. The contents were fine but the icon was
corrupted. This fixed it. I checked for errors, it said it found none but the problem
was actually fixed. Thanks!

Before formatting right click on removable disk :G and select properties and then
uncheck the archive/ the read only box at bottom.
